I believe that if you have something positive to say about someone you should tell them. When I met Mr. Winslow after the show in Oslo, I was so extremely impressed about his show, talent, and how nice he was to me and my father that I forgot to tell him that:

The only show that I have seen that outperformed his show in pure talent was his brother by name, Michael Jackson's concert when he was in Oslo with his History world tour in 1997. In other words, Mr. Winslow is extremely talented and the show was extraordinary.

I'm writing this because I would want to know if someone thought I was that talented :)

Best Regards

I am glad to have rediscovered you via U Tube. Finally an entertainer that does not need to talk filth to be funny, via typical Hollywood...

I was wondering the name of the Jimi Hendrix song you did in Canada as the intro to Purple Haze? I never heard it before...it was great. The just for laughs show in Montreal is the one I am talking about...

Any shows upcoming in West Palm or Lauderdale? I see you live in Orlando...

Best to you...

There are several quintessential moments in a man's life: losing his virginity, getting married, becoming a father, and winning your high-school basketball game without turning into a werewolf.

These moments pale into insignificance when measured against the once in a life-time opportunity to watch a show performed by the guy from Police Academy who made the noises.

Every year the festival brings to Edinburgh hundreds of acts from across the world. Performance and Culture is represented by an almost impossible choice of theater, comedy, literature and art in every venue and toilet cubicle around the city. With the streets becoming a literal Vietnam of clowns, mimes and fruity Magicians, picking a show is like a game of Russian roulette. For every 5 good shows loaded there is a single chamber containing 50 tiny men in leotards performing a musical version of 'Flowers in The Attic'.

I looked upon the Fringe guide with the patented 'Festival Apathy' and began picking shows to see based on the likely hood that no one involved would get their dick out (a 1374663% impossibility)

Then I spotted him.
MICHAEL WINSLOW

I booked my ticket with the sort of keyboard-hammering intensity that I usually reserved for petitioning NASA for the return of Buck Rogers and/or closing windows of porn.

As a child of the 80's I was born and raised on 3 things.
Thundercats, Milli Vanilli and Police Academy.
Michael Winslows Performance as 'Motor Mouth Jones' got me through the tough times that the extended club mix of 'Blame it On The Rain' never could.
Mr Winslow taught me life's most valuable lesson: All of life's problems can and will be solved by comically imitating the sound of a robot/ninja/animal fart.

I attended the very first show and sat right down at the front with every inch of my pre-show excitement strapped to my leg with sellotape.

I was not disappointed.

Michael was welcomed onto the stage with a hurricane of applause. On screen he may have captivated us with his motor-mouth and robot impressions but in the flesh had the sort of presence that dared you not to have enjoyed 27 years of movies about hilarious wacky law enforcement.

Despite the universal fact that exposure to the movie Spaceballs takes 3 inches of your dick, Michael emerged as pure unadulterated sexual energy. There was a silent agreement among every single one of us there that we could fully get behind someone who'd make reassuring chewbacca sounds in bed.

Such was the magnetism of the 'Citizens on Patrol' star, the 7 sets of thighs belonging to the row of women sitting behind me were converted into Edinburgh's first Particle Accelerator. Even my girlfriend who accompanied me was unable to disguise the audible pelvic groan that immediately sent 99% of Japan into Godzilla Alert.

The show lived up to every expectation. Mr Winslow knew his core audience and only left us waiting 2 or 3 minutes before unleashing his first impression of a Horse taking a dump.

Opened his show with a reflection on his experiences flying into Edinburgh, Michael threw down a Scottish Accent that put 150 minutes of bat-shit-insane-Mel Gibson in a skirt to shame.
Detailing his journey and the subsequently hilarious confrontation with a Stewardess, the impersonation he did of her was so disturbingly sexy that had I been blind my guide dog would have put itself into traction dragging my crotch away from a very confused star of Mission to Moscow.

The show was pure joy. Family friendly and breathtakingly energetic. There wasn't a single person in the show who wasn't laughing. Hard. That's how charming Michael Winslow is. He can tell a joke where the setup is him building a radio, and the punchline is him shooting Lene Nystrøm (From Aqua) in the face, and it's funny. If anyone else tried that, it'd be a disaster.

The show included a Jimi Hendrix impersonation, some Steve Wonder and a very personal tribute to Otis Reading. To top this off he also performed the entire 'Don't Get Cocky Kid' scene from Star Wars. The clip shown silently with Michael providing every voice, laser, space-explosion and Chewbacca growl with the sort of determination that could have possibly cost him his face. The whole bit played out loudly enough to drown out every Han-Solo fan's genitals high-five'ing themselves.

As an added bonus, the very first show was attended by some of the Scottish Rugby League Players (Easily identifiable because they were the only 5 men in there that looked like they had been made out of 15 other 'really large men') I mention their presence only to emphasis Winslow's universal appeal: There is no finer seal of approval that 5 strategically shaved 230lb sports gorillas clapping and breathlessly pointing at a man standing on stage impersonating a spaceship.

The show was an hour of passionate, uninhibited joy. The sheer enthusiasm and pleasure Michael displayed while impersonating lobsters, Tesco scanning machines and Led Zeppelin intros embraced everyone in the room and led us by the hand to a world where everything is better. Without Michael Winslow and the near infinite number of sounds in the world like lasers, beat-boxes and rectal-discharges, our lives would be dull and unhilarious and mimes would probably get laid a lot more often than they should. This is a nightmare vision of silence and mime-sex that he saved us from and we applauded the fuck out of him for it.

Michael Winslow (Veteran of 7 hilarious Police-Academy Movies and National Lampoon's Robodoc which officially requires that he be awarded the Congressional Medal of Fucking-A), and he is performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from August the 3rd. Buy your tickets now and go spend an hour of absolute awesomeness. http://www.edfringe.com/whats-on/comedy/michael-winslow

I just want to say that I love your work. It will never fade away. I saw a young kid named, Daniel Curtis Lee on the Disney Channel and he reminded me of you. He has many sounds and facial expressions also, but hearing and watching him brings me back to the days of the Police Academy. You must check it out. I am happy to see you do tours and cannot wait until you reach my town. :)
